Natasha Negovanlis
Here's a bio that makes me sound cooler than I am...
(Because nothing says "cool" like writing about yourself in third person!)
Natasha (she/they) is a modern-day renaissance person who is most recognized for their portrayal of the “broody lesbian vampire” in the cult-classic series and movie Carmilla. This role not only earned Natasha a devoted global fanbase, but also led to them winning a Fan’s Choice Award at the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards where their passionate acceptance speech (focused on queer representation) garnered a significant amount of media attention. Since this breakout success, they have been featured in numerous films and television shows including Murdoch Mysteries, Freelancers Anonymous (recipient of a 2018 ReFrame Stamp from The Sundance Institute), and Band Ladies - 2020's "Best Ensemble Cast" at the First Glance Film Festival Philadelphia.

But Natasha’s work for stage and screen extends beyond acting. From 2016-2018 she was a host and content creator for Shaftesbury Film’s flagship YouTube channel "KindaTV" where over 200K subscribers tuned in weekly. She also co-wrote and co-produced the digital comedy series CLAIREvoyant alongside Annie Briggs, which won the “Dynamic Duo” award at NYC Web Fest.

In addition to their love for performing arts, Natasha is also an engaging speaker and educator who advocates for queer youth and mental health awareness. They have led workshops like “Improv for Confidence Building” at Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and served as a juror for InsideOut - Toronto's LGBTQ film festival. They have also moderated discussions for Whistler Film Festival and have spoken on panels at The British Film Institute, MIP TV in Cannes, and at YouTube Space LA.

Natasha is also a member of the musical improv troupe "Staccayto Staccato" - a house team at Comedy Bar Danforth in Toronto which combines her comedy chops with her training as a soprano from the prestigious Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montréal. She has also been a monologist at institutions including UCB New York and in musicals and cabarets across North America at venues such as the Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts.

Overall, she has established herself as a relatable and engaging person with a multifaceted career that continues to evolve. Natasha's hundreds of thousands of followers connect with her candid posts and sketches about a variety of progressive topics but, when she's not on social media, she can often be found giving virtual tarot readings, sculpting tiny clay pet portraits, or trying her hand at stand-up. On the rare occasion Natasha is not wearing many hats (both literally and figuratively) she loves treasure-hunting in thrift stores, and snuggling with her rescue dog Charles - the only king she recognizes.
